It's safe to say that the trade hasn't worked out for the Miami Marlins.

The Marlins have removed former New York Mets pitcher David Robertson from the closer role.

Since being acquired by Miami, Robertson has struggled immensely, posting a 0-3 record, 7.20 ERA and blowing three saves in seven chances.

This was quite the opposite for Robertson, who shined with the Mets earlier in the season. The 38-year-old had a 2.05 ERA and was 14-for-17 on save chances in Queens.

Robertson's stellar performance with the Mets led to him being dealt to the Marlins at the trade deadline for rookie prospects Marco Vargas and Ronald Hernandez.

One NL scout told Inside the Mets that Hernandez looked like the real deal and a serious prospect down in rookie ball.

The Mets did the right thing by trading Robertson at the deadline, given they were out of playoff contention and he is playing on an expiring deal.

The result could turn out well for the Mets with the two prospects they acquired, but it hasn't gone well for the Marlins, who are fighting for a spot in the postseason.
