The San Diego Padres are starting to look like the team we all expected them to be. Over their last 10 games, they are 7-3 and are now only one game under .500. This is the closest they've been to .500 since they were last .500. on May 11th.

Things are trending upward for the Frairs, and they will now be heading up to San Franciso to take on their division rival Giants for a four-game series. San Diego ended their six-game home stand on a high note, taking four out of six from the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays.

It may or may not seem like it, Padre fans, considering the type of year it's been, but this is the first time this season the Friars got a winning homestand. If you're surprised by it, take a look at how superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. reacted to that information.

Yeah, we were pretty shocked when we found out, too. Nonetheless, you could view it as a glass half full and say the Friars are starting to pick up their pace. The Friars are scratching and clawing their way to a playoff spot; as of June 19, they are 3.5 games out of the Wild Card spot and 7.5 out of the top spot in the NL West.

That may seem like a lot, but the NL West is still up for grabs, and we have three full months of baseball left. Hopefully, this is the first of many homestand wins for the Friars, as they'll need all the home wins they can get.
