Padres News: Fernando Tatis Jr Makes a Fan for Life with Gesture at Petco Park

Fernando Tatis Jr is making the outfield fun for Padres fans.

When the Padres defeated the visiting Baltimore Orioles by a 10-3 margin, it was a reason to celebrate on Tuesday night. The club got an important win as they look to keep their postseason hopes alive. After the final out, right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr was spotted on camera celebrating even harder with fans in the outfield, including the one patron that is now certain to be a fan for life.

A few fans pulled out their mobile devices and caught a cool gesture by Tatis where he handed his hat off to one lucky fan down the right field line.

Angle number two.

The young girl's excitement is through the charts as she was decked out in Friars' gear. Fernando explained the exchange with FM97.3's Sammy Lev before Wednesday night's action began.

"It was a longer ninth inning than expected and I started to engage with the fans a little bit. It was a one-sided game, it's been a long season so I felt like every deserved that. And while engaging with the fans, I saw [a sign] out there and we were talking a lot through [gestures] and they just convinced me at the end of the game I told her I was going to give her that hat."

The first season in the outfield has gone very well for the former All-Star shortstop. He's been among the league leaders in assists all season long and seeming is getting better each and every day out on the grass.

Now he's giving away parts of his uniform he's so comfortable out there.
