San Diego Padres superstar Juan Soto was brought here to help get the Friars to the promise land. It wasn't cheap to get him here; however, it was yet to be worth it. Yes, the Padres made their first NLCS appearance since 198 in 2022, but it wasn't at the hands of Soto, not even a little bit.

Soto was struggling mightily since coming to California as it's been a tough transition for the 24-year-old; however, he has seemed to turn things around. His numbers are trending upward slowly but surely, and he credits his swing. Soto spoke to Padres insider Kevin Acee after the win on Tuesday and said his swing feels good but won't reveal what he's doing to improve it.

“My swing feels very good,” Soto said last night. “I’ve been working a lot on it. It feels pretty good so far. It seems like I’ve been working on the right things. I just clicked one more thing today, and it feels great. I just went out there and tried to work on it, and it really works.”

Asked what that “one more thing” was, he replied.

“Can’t say. I gotta keep it quiet.”

Well, whatever he's doing, it's working. Over his last 15 games, Soto is slashing .327/.431/.655 with a 1.086 OPS, four home runs, 5 RBIs, seven runs, and 18 hits in 55 ABs.

Soto's OPS was as low as .700 at one point in the season, whereas his career OPS is above .900. The lefty slugger is finding his groove, and if the team can find theirs, the Padres will be a scary team to face led by the lefty Ted Williams.
