The San Diego Padres went scoreless against the Washington Nationals and fell 2-0 as they allowed them to now tie their weekend series. However, it definitely was not at the fault of

Matt Waldron who made his debut with the franchise and lasted just over four innings on the mound while allowing just four hits and two runs.

Everybody was tuned in as well as he made sure to use his infamous knuckleball a number of times and he found success with it. Waldron is 26-years-old and he represents a number of minor-league pitchers that still use the knuckleball pitch.

Well it looks like Waldron will be reuniting with them once again as the Padres have decided to send him back to Triple-A following his first game on the major league roster. The organization announced this move via their Twitter.

"The #Padres have optioned RHP Matt Waldron to Triple-A El Paso and recalled RHP Reiss Knehr."

Waldron had suited up in 14 games with El Paso this season and had compiled a pretty rough 7.02 ERA thus far with a 1.650 WHIP. He will certainly look to produce more like he did in his lone game with the Friars and hopefully we will see hm back in the major league soon!

New Padres catcher Gary Sanchez had a lot of praise for Waldron after catching for him in his debut.

“I think he did a tremendous job,” said Sanchez. “The home runs … those are things that happen over the course of the game. I think overall, he threw a tremendous game and took us where we needed to go in that game.”

Let's hope he finds success in the minors!
