Philadelphia Phillies Boss' Son Lands Gig with Mariners

Landon Dombrowski lands a key role in the Seattle Mariners organization, following in his father's footsteps

Landon Dombrowski is the son of Philadelphia Phillies' president of baseball operations, Dave Dombrowski. Having grown up and been exposed to big league operations his whole life, it only seemed natural he would one day follow in his father's steps.

Landon Dombrowski recently graduated college in 2022 from Wake Forest with a degree in Economics. During his time in school, Dombrowbski was given the opportunity to intern for the St. Paul Saints, the Triple-A Affiliate with the Minnesota Twins in his third year of college. It was from that opportunity he was able to parlay into a Big League job.

In an interview between Jon Morosi and Dave Dombrowski, it was mentioned that Landon Dombrowksi was recently hired as a pro scout for the Seattle Mariners organization.

His father also mentioned he once recommended a trade in 2006 when his father was in the Detroit Tigers front office. Albert Pujols for Ramon Santiago. Not a great idea at the time but it was his first showing, even as a kid, that he may just have the right stuff.

I hope that after more than 15 years, Dombrowski's trade recommendations have improved immensely. At least his father thinks so, saying he's got a little more feel now than he did when he was six years old.

This is Dombrowski's first big league's job and if he is anything like his father, this won't be his last one.
