Philadelphia Phillies Star Continues to Showcase His Greatness

The Philadelphia Phillies superstar continues to remind everyone of just how great he is, playing like one of the best players in the MLB after returning from offseason Tommy John surgery.

Lost in the euphoria of the Philadelphia Phillies’ September surge has been the stellar daily performances by Bryce Harper.

At the plate and in the field.

Let’s not forget that Harper returned incredibly early from Tommy John surgery to join the Phillies May 2 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Originally, Harper was supposed to return by the All-Star break.

Since joining Philadelphia as a free agent, the superstar has continued to prove his mettle in a variety of ways. He hits clutch home runs like the one against the San Diego Padres in the National League Championship Series last season.

And he comes back early from injuries.

Harper’s return from Tommy John surgery was a bit of a slow process. Fast forward to now and you’d never know his elbow had been injured.

For a while, it didn’t look as if Harper would hit another home run. Yet he reached 20 homers for the ninth time in 12 seasons.

“I’m very happy with the 20 homers that I’m at right now,” he told reporters. “We’ve got a couple more games to go, so hopefully, I’ll hit a couple more. But just the way my season has gone, after having full-blown Tommy John surgery, coming back and playing the way I am, I’m very happy with that.”

The slugger has 17 home runs since July 15, so it’s no secret that the Phillies have been winning consistently.

Harper has been playing off and on at first base since July 21 with a number of outstanding defensive plays.

None of this should be surprising.

Harper expects greatness no matter the circumstances.

That’s exactly what Philadelphia has been getting.
