Frankie Montas on Reds' Young Talent: 'It Gets You Pumped Up'

The Reds signed the veteran earlier this month.

CINCINNATI — The Reds signed Frankie Montas to help stabilize their starting rotation. The veteran is excited to join a young, talented team.

He praised the young guys on the roster during a recent interview with MLB.com.

"The way they play. The way they play," Montas said. "I feel like they have a little bit of everything. I feel like they're a team made up of highlights. They have highlights every night."

Montas named Elly De La Cruz and Hunter Greene, among others.

"You catch yourself watching all those guys and it gets you pumped up," he said. "They're electric and I wanted to be a part of that."

Spring training starts next month. The Reds are hoping to make a playoff run after adding proven veteran talent in free agency.
