Former Twins leadoff hitter Denard Span joins Bally Sports TV crew

D-Span is the latest former Twins player to join the TV crew as an analyst.

Denard Span, the former Minnesota Twins center fielder, is the newest member of the Bally Sports North broadcast crew. 

Span, who turned 40 years old on Tuesday, was a staple at the top of the Twins batting order from 2008 to 2012 before finishing his MLB career in 2018 with the Mariners following stints with the with the Nationals, Giants and Rays. 

Bally Sports North will be the television home for 159 of 162 Twins games this season, and it'll certainly look and sound different with Cory Provus taking over play-by-play duties following the departure of four-decade announcer Dick Bremer. Provus will be joined by ex-Twins players-turned-analysts Justin Morneau, Roy Smalley, LaTroy Hawkins, Glen Perkins, Trevor Plouffe and Span. 

Pre- and post-game shows will be hosted by Anthony LaPanta and Katie Storm, with Tim Laudner and the aforementioned former players working at the desk with them.

Audra Martin is also part of the broadcast team as an on-field reporter.
