New York Yankees Talking To Marlins About Potential Blockbuster Trade

The New York Yankees have been talking to the Miami Marlins about a potential blockbuster trade.

The New York Yankees are looking for another starting pitcher after missing out on Japanese superstar Yoshinobu Yamamoto this offseason.

According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, the Yankees have spoken to the Miami Marlins about a potential trade for some of their young starting pitching.

Per Heyman, the Marlins are open to trading Jesus Luzardo, Edward Cabrera, Braxton Garrett and Trevor Rogers.

However, there has been no real traction up until this date regarding a deal between the Yankees and Marlins.

The Yankees discussed a trade with the Marlins in 2022, where Gleyber Torres would have been sent to Miami for righty starter Pablo Lopez, but the deal never came to fruition.

New York has also shown interest in trading for Chicago White Sox righty starter Dylan Cease, as well as free agent hurlers Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery.

After a down year from Carlos Rodon, the Yankees must add another top starter at the front of their rotation to complement AL Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole.

All signs point to the Yankees adding another top starter this winter, whether it be in free agency or via trade.

The Yankees went all-in by acquiring superstar Juan Soto, Trent Grisham and Alex Verdugo. They must now finish the job by improving their pitching staff in both the rotation and bullpen.
