Ben Simmons Among Multiple Nets Ruled Out vs. Sixers

Former No. 1 pick ruled out for matchup against his former team.

After their win over the Dallas Mavericks, the Philadelphia 76ers have one more game on their current road trip. They'll head to Barclays Center Tuesday night to take on the Brooklyn Nets.

When these teams face off, the biggest storyline is Ben Simmons. Back in 2022, the former All-Star was traded to Brooklyn for James Harden following a months-long saga. Simmons was in action the last time the Nets played the Sixers, but that won't be the case Tuesday.

Per the latest injury report, Simmons is among multiple Brooklyn players out against Philly. He continues to deal with a back injury that has plagued him for two years now. Aside from Simmons, Day'Ron Sharpe and Cam Thomas are also out. Veteran wing Lonnie Walker is questionable for this matchup due to an ankle sprain.

Tuesday will mark the fifth-straight game that Simmons has missed. The last time he suited up was February 26th where he logged four points, six rebounds, and three assists against the Memphis Grizzlies. When he played against the Sixers a month ago, he went scoreless in just under 14 minutes of action.

Since being traded to the Nets, Simmons has played in just 57 games across two seasons. In that time, he is averaging 6.7 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 6.0 APG, and 1.2 SPG.

With just a few weeks to go in the season, Brooklyn sits in 11th place in the Eastern Conference at 24-37. They're just two-and-a-half games out of the last spot in the Play-In Tournament. However, they've struggled as of late. Over their last ten games, the Nets are just 4-6. They'll be looking to get back on track against a Sixers team that will be without Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey
