The Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz have made a number of trades together over the last five years. The most notable swap the two teams made was the mega Donovan Mitchell trade.

These trade partners are at it again as they agreed to another deal that gives the Cavs more depth in their frontcourt.

Adrian Wojnarowski's report implies Utah is sending center Damian Jones to the Cleveland Cavaliers for little to nothing in return. Essentially, the deal allows the Cavs to absorb Jones' $2.6 million contract.

The Cavs desperately needed to bolster the frontcourt after the New York Knicks exposed its flaws in the playoffs. Outside of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, no one on the Cavs could contain larger lineups.

Jones may not be the immediate answer to that need, but it's a start. He played for both the Lakers and Jazz last season averaging 3.5 points, three rebounds, 0.5 blocks, and 11.6 a game.

When Jones had a larger role with the Sacramento Kings in 2021-22, he averaged 8.1 points, and 4.4 rebounds in 18.2 minutes a night.

Cleveland may still need to address the frontcourt's depth at some point this season, but for now, it allows them to head into the season knowing they have someone who can provide minutes off the bench.
