LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard left Tuesday night's game vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves with thoracic spasms, leaving his status in question for Thursday night's game vs. Chicago. Playing on Thursday vs. the Bulls, Leonard told reporters that his injury was different than typical back spasms, because he had been elbowed in the back a few games prior.

"It's not really a cramping thing or a spasms," Leonard said. "I think I got elbowed against the Bulls when we were playing at home, and it kind of made it irritated the next day when we played Milwaukee. Then it kind of carried over to Tuesday. Tried to ramp it up, give it my all, but coming off of screens, trying to box people out, getting hit, it wasn't worth going though."

All things considered, this feels like a positive update, as Leonard's back issue was not something that popped up on its own. Taking an elbow to the back a few games prior, Leonard had been feeling some discomfort, and it led to him not being able to finish Tuesday night's game vs. Minnesota.

Now back in the lineup, Leonard played 34 minutes on Thursday night, finishing with 27 points on 71% shooting. The Clippers will now have to wait and see what his availability will be for Friday's big game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
