Reason for Kawhi Leonard's Controversial NBA 2K24 Rating Revealed
Kawhi Leonard has an incredibly high NBA 2K rating. One so high that it garnered some complaints from fans of other teams. Leonard is ranked at a 94 in NBA 2K24, one of the top 10 players in the game, and Ronnie Singh (aka Ronnie 2k) explained why.
In an interview with Jedd Pagaduan of ClutchPoints, Ronnie explained why Kawhi Leonard's NBA 2K rating is so high.
“Obviously it is a big sample size, there’s no bigger sample size than an entire career," Singh said. "He’s (Kawhi Leonard) proven it, he’s done it for a long time,” Singh said. “I mean, there’s a lot of guys when they get injured, we don’t have a lot of sample size so we gotta go off of what we think their game will be… so he’s a really specific example of we gotta believe that the past is going to reflect the present."
There's no reason why Kawhi Leonard shouldn't have a top-10 rating in NBA 2K. The only players listed higher than him are: Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, and Jimmy Butler. If anything, one could argue that Leonard's rating is too low, because he clearly looked like a top-5 player in the NBA during last year's playoffs. Injuries aside, it's very clear that Kawhi Leonard is still one of the best at the game of basketball.
Ronnie believes Kawhi Leonard deserves his respect, and until his play decreases for a sustained period of time, he's going to get it.
“Now look, if he struggles when he actually plays for an extended period of time, that rating will be addressed accordingly as the season goes along.".
