2023 NBA Draft Lottery: Charlotte Hornets Land No. 2 Overall Pick
On Tuesday evening, NBA franchises encountered a momentous occasion with the potential to significantly impact their future. The top 14 picks of the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft, scheduled for June 22, were solidified at the draft lottery.
During an exciting event, the NBA unveiled the fortunate recipient of the coveted No. 1 overall pick and Victor Wembanyama, along with the remaining lottery positions.
The Charlotte Hornets had the fourth best odds entering the night, but ultimately landed the No. 2 overall pick after jumping two spots.
This was a huge win for the Charlotte, who will now get to take whatever prospect the team wants outside of Wembanyama. Pairing a co-star alongside LaMelo Ball should have Hornets fans feeling good about what the team could build around moving forward. Losing seasons are never easy, but it was all worth it after landing the second overall pick. The path to being competitive again is now becoming much more clear.
