2023 NBA Draft Lottery: Dallas Mavericks Land No. 10 Overall Pick

On Tuesday evening, NBA franchises encountered a momentous occasion with the potential to significantly impact their future. The top 14 picks of the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft, scheduled for June 22, were solidified at the draft lottery.

During an exciting event, the NBA unveiled the fortunate recipient of the coveted No. 1 overall pick and Victor Wembanyama, along with the remaining lottery positions.

The Dallas Mavericks had the fifth worst odds entering the night, and ultimately landed the No. 10 overall pick. This is a huge relief for Dallas, as this pick could be the key driver of improving the roster this summer. As the Mavericks look to put together a competitive roster around Luka Doncic, that pick could be the sweetener to get a deal done for a more proven player.

If Dallas does keep the pick, prioritizing a big could be the route the team goes. That's been a position the Mavs have struggled to fill over the past few years. If not a strong center, perhaps a quality 3-point shooter.
