2023 NBA Draft Lottery: San Antonio Spurs Land No. 1 Overall Pick

In this story:
On Tuesday evening, NBA franchises encountered a momentous occasion with the potential to significantly impact their future. The top 14 picks of the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft, scheduled for June 22, were solidified at the draft lottery.
During an exciting event, the NBA unveiled the fortunate recipient of the coveted No. 1 overall pick and Victor Wembanyama, along with the remaining lottery positions.
The San Antonio Spurs had the third best odds entering the night, but ultimately landed the No. 1 overall pick.
Between now and the 2023 NBA Draft, the Draft Digest team will be breaking down prospects that could be available in the Spurs' range, although Wembanyama will be their guy.
It was a perfect result for San Antonio, who hasn't had a top draft pick since drafting Tim Duncan.
Alongside premier ancillary pieces like Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson and recent draftees Jeremy Sochan and Malaki Branham, Wembanyama will allowed to thrive as a focal point on both offense and defense, all while developing in the Spurs' heralded system.
Wembanyama, at just 19-years-old, leads the LNB Pro A league in points, rebounds and blocks, and for all intents and purposes is the best basketball prospect we've ever seen.
Now, Spurs fans will get to watch him in the silver and black for the foreseeable future.
