2023 NBA Draft Lottery: Utah Jazz Land No. 9 Overall Pick

On Tuesday evening, NBA franchises encountered a momentous occasion with the potential to significantly impact their future. The top 14 picks of the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft, scheduled for June 22, were solidified at the draft lottery.

During an exciting event, the NBA unveiled the fortunate recipient of the coveted No. 1 overall pick and Victor Wembanyama, along with the remaining lottery positions.

The Utah Jazz had the ninth best odds entering the night, and ultimately landed the No. 9 overall pick. It was to be expected for Utah, who had a 51 percent chance at landing it, by far their highest percentage for a singular pick.

Between now and the 2023 NBA Draft, the Draft Digest team will be breaking down prospects that could be available in Utah's range.

While they missed out on the draft's top prizes in Scoot Henderson, Victor Wembanyama and more, the ninth overall pick will offer plenty of short and long-term upside at a variety of positions.

With the emergence of Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler, Utah could potentially be focused on bolstering it's backcourt with youth, or adding a versatile wing. Cason Wallace, Keyonte George, Ausar Thompson and Gradey Dick all come to mind.

The 2023 NBA Draft will kick off at 7 p.m. on June 22, 2023.
