2023 NBA Draft: Toronto Raptors Official Selections and Draft Grades

Who did the Toronto Raptors select in the 2023 NBA Draft?

Entering the 2023 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors were in an interesting spot. They had the assets to really make a splash in the draft via trade and re-tool, but also would be just fine not making a big move and just selecting late in the lottery. Either way, this is set to be a pivotal summer for Toronto. There are multiple directions the Raptors can go over the next few months.

How did their 2023 NBA Draft unfold?

Draft Summary

Although they only ended up making one pick on Thursday night, it was a great one. The Raptors landed the projected top shooter in the draft that also has positional size. It was unclear if Dick would make it out of the top ten entering the draft, so him falling to Toronto at No. 13 was a blessing.

Given the direction of the franchise, this makes him the perfect pick with a high floor and high ceiling. If the Raptors enter the upcoming season looking to be competitive, Dick should be able to help immediately. Furthermore, if they decide to re-tool the roster, he can also emerge as a key long-term cornerstone. Overall, Dick falling to Toronto could end up being one of the best fits in this class.
