2023 NBA Summer League: Top Rookie Performers From July 10 Games

When looking back at the slate of games on July 10, these three rookies shined brightest in NBA Summer League.

On Monday in Las Vegas, six more NBA Summer League games were played as we approach the halfway point of this exciting event. While some incoming rookies continue their respective hot streaks, others begin to emerge and play their best ball of the summer.

As the week goes on, expect some rookies to be pulled out of the lineup as they show enough to start letting others on the roster get minutes. Once that happens, new names can begin to shine on the big stage ahead of the upcoming season.

Which three rookies were the top performers in yesterday’s slate of games?

Keyonte George (Utah Jazz)

Keyonte George, Baylor Bears

26 Points | 7 Assists | 2 Steals

George is making a case for the MVP of this event, continuing his hot scoring on Monday while also dishing the ball to his teammates for good looks. It's just summer league, but he is proving he can play a ton of minutes in the upcoming season for the Jazz. The Baylor product looks like a clear lottery talent despite being taken just outside of it.

Leonard Miller (Minnesota Timberwolves)

Leonard Miller, G League Ignite

20 Points | 5 Rebounds | 2 Steals

Once again, Miller has proven he should have been taken in the first round. Among all second-round picks, he's been one of the most productive in Las Vegas. It's unclear what his role will be initially with the Timberwolves during the regular season, but don't be surprised if he ends up being a real contributor early on.

Emoni Bates (Cleveland Cavaliers)

Emoni Bates, Eastern Michigan Eagles

21 Points | 2 Blocks | 2 Steals

While he's had some inefficient outings this summer, Bates put together his best game of the summer on Monday. He was disruptive on the defensive end which is promising, but also shot the ball efficiently. When Bates is taking good shots and converting, he's one of the top second-round talents in this class.
