After spending just one year at Arkansas, former five-star Jordan Walsh has already seen a few breakout performances with the Boston Celtics.

Drafted No. 38 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Walsh was thought by many to be a defensive stalwart. But after three Summer League games in Las Vegas, his offense has stolen the spotlight.

His most recent performance came against the Los Angeles Lakers, where he poured on 25 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in an all-around performance for Boston. He shot 50 percent from the field and his two of his seven 3-point attempts to fuel the Celtics to a five-point win.

It’s clear Walsh has already benefited from NBA spacing. While he was a strong and important piece for Arkansas in his lone collegiate year, his offense was lacking in a few key areas, as he averaged just 7.1 points and shot just 28 percent from beyond the arc.

Now, Walsh has already put together two noteworthy scoring performances, and has yet to score below double digits.

In his first game for Boston, he scored 18 points, hitting on four of his six 3-point attempts and shooting over 50 percent from the field.

His next game versus Washington was slightly less prolific in the scoring department, but he still managed 12 points, three assists, two rebounds and a steal. He shot four-for-14 overall and one-for-six from the field.

Overall, Walsh is averaging 18.3 points in his three Summer League games. An extremely strong number for a prospect whose game is built on his defensive identity.
