College Stock Watch: Kansas’ Gradey Dick

In this story:
Conference play is coming to an end, with tournaments looming. This is the time of year when the best players in the country really begin to shine.
As such, NBA Draft stocks will rise and fall as prospects compete under a bigger spotlight. Over the past few weeks, every game has continued to get more important as the pressure builds.
Whose stock has risen? What about fallen?
This week, we look at the draft stock of Kansas wing Gradey Dick based on recent play.
Gradey Dick (Wing | Kansas)
Stock: Rising
Season Stats: 14.9 PPG | 4.9 RPG | 40.7% 3PT
The 6-foot-8 sharpshooter continues to get better as the season goes on. Not only is Dick shooting better than 40% from deep, but he’s also taking nearly six attempts per game.
With that in mind, he’s more than just a shooter. Dick has continued to show his upside as an attacker, passer and facilitator overall. With the defensive attention he demands as a scorer, he’s shown the ability to dish the ball to open teammates.
Dick’s defensive upside has also risen of late. He’s certainly not a lockdown defender, but his length allows him to defend upwards of three positions depending on the night. He’s got a 3-and-D skillset with complementary star upside.
This is further validated by his Cerebro Sports metrics, as he’s earned an 86 3PE and 82 DSI this season.
Being the best player on one of the top teams in the country as a freshman is a tough task. However, Dick has been able to ensure the Jayhawks stay competitive. There’s been several times this season in which Kansas would not have been able to pull off a win without his contributions.
Dick entered the season as a top prospect, but he's actually improved his draft stock quite a bit over the past few months.
