Each week, the Draft Digest team picks an NBA rookie from each conference as the best player of the week.

As the season goes on, there's been quite a few rookies that have been thrust into larger roles than expected this early in the 2022-23 campaign. With that in mind, many of these first year players have stepped up to the challenge and shined in the unique opportunity.

Who brought home the hardware this week?

Eastern Conference

MarJon Beauchamp (Milwaukee Bucks)

Stats Since Last Week: 3 GP | 10.0 PPG| 5.7 RPG | 13.8% USG

In most situations, late first rounders don't get playing time early in the season on contenders. With that in mind, Milwaukee is facing quite a few injuries which has thrown Beauchamp into the regular rotation. He's looked great for the most part, notching a 19-point game last week and a 20-point outing this week.

On the season, the rookie is top 12 among all rookies in points and rebounds and top 20 in assists. He's notched 208 minutes in the first month of the season, which goes to show how much the coaching staff already trusts Beauchamp.

Western Conference

Jalen Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder)

Stats Since Last Week: 4 GP | 10.5 PPG| 3.3 RPG | 4.8 APG | 52.8% FG

Williams has emerged as a legitimate contributor for the Thunder despite being a rookie and was a huge part of them going 3-1 this week on a tough road trip. Getting it done on both ends, he's already earning spot starts and is effective playing multiple positions. As it related to Cerebro Sports' 5-Metric Suite, he's been most impressive defensively, posting a 68 DSI thus far.

As a secondary facilitator, Williams even notched an 11 assist game this week against the Toronto Raptors and is currently fourth among all rookies in total assists this season. Whether it's as a point guard or power forward, the versatility he has shown is wildly impressive.
