Leonard Miller Continues Strong Summer League Stint for Timberwolves

Former G League Ignite prospect Leonard Miller continued his strong Summer League play on Wednesday.

Heading into the 2023 NBA Draft, G League Ignite prospect Leonard Miller was thought to have one of the wider ranges. Being heralded as a potential late-lottery pick in some mock drafts and a late-first in others

On draft night, latter came true, as Miller fell all the way to the second round and Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 33. Now, Miller is proving why he should’ve been drafted much earlier.

Wednesday's game against Atlanta was just one example of why Miller's slide was an intriguing one, as he had potential his best performance yet: 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and a whopping three blocks. He shot seven-for-14 overall and hit two of his six 3-point attempts. Minnesota ultimately lost to the Hawks, but Miller's line and a timely three-ball late in the game were promising nonetheless.

At 6-foot-10 with primarily wing and some guard tendencies, Miller has a bit of a funky game, potentially one of the reasons he saw a draft night slide. But there’s no question he has talent, and he’s now backing it up on-court.

In his first game in Las Vegas, Miller poured on 16 points on seven-for-11 shooting, tacking on 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in the Wolves’ rout of the Pelicans.

Monday’s game was a similar story, with Miller scoring a team-high 20 points and adding an additional five rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Ultimately, Miller's draft case was built on productivity. And he's continued to be productive in each Summer League game so far.

Miller and Minnesota’s Summer League squad now look to a bout with the Kings at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
