NBA Draft: The Best Landing Spots for Scoot Henderson

In this story:
We’re just two days away from the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery, where we’ll find out who will be leaving the draft with the top picks.
Dominating the G League at just 17-years-old, Scoot Henderson is projected to be the second overall pick, meaning we might just find out where he’ll be landing on Tuesday.
We’ve already taken a look at who needs Henderson the most, now let’s take a look at what the best fits for his talents are:
San Antonio Spurs
With off-ball pieces galore, the Spurs are in dire need of a lead ball-handler to corral their offense, and Henderson is the best in the draft in that regard.
Alongside Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Malaki Branham and secondary handler Jeremy Sochan, Henderson would be allowed to drive the offense and hone his facilitating skills over the next few years.
With a solid developmental track record, Henderson could potentially be the next in line of dominant superstars to don black and silver.
Houston Rockets
Similarly to San Antonio, Houston offers plenty of complimentary off-ball pieces, but without the recent developmental track record.
The Kevin Porter Jr. point guard experiment hasn’t worked out so far, and the Rockets have struggled to fit all of their pieces together. With Henderson as the glue and primary, Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr. and others would finally surround a focal point.
Green would have some offensive pressure relieves, Sengun would have a cutting and lob-threat and Smith would have a true passer to help him get even better looks.
Orlando Magic
Despite already having plenty of star-power in Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, both of which can handle the ball with ease, Henderson would likely put Orlando over the top as the best potential rebuild in the NBA.
Henderson could help command the offense alongside Banchero, and, with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, would be a fine addition to Orlando’s already lengthy project.
Henderson might not be the exact piece the front office or fans are looking for, but he would simply be too much to pass on as their point guard of the future should they have the option. Even over a decent piece in Markelle Fultz.
