Salt Lake City Summer League Preview: Top Prospects and Matchups in Highly Anticipated Event

Before the premier summer league event takes place in Las Vegas later this week, there's two other circuits leading up to that in which top rookies will play their first minutes for their new teams. One of these includes a four-team event in Salt Lake City.

The host Utah Jazz will be joined by the Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers. Each team will play three games apiece.

While more than just rookies will compete in this event, let's take a look at each team's NBA Summer League roster and which rookies we're most excited about.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Although Cason Wallace won't be playing in Salt Lake City, the Thunder will roll out Chet Holmgren and Keyontae Johnson. From there, the roster features quite a few interesting undrafted free agents, most notably Caleb McConnell and Adam Flagler.

Memphis Grizzlies

Despite the Grizzlies not having a first-round pick, they still left the 2023 NBA Draft with GG Jackson. He has a lot to figure out, but there's no question he has the talent to be one of the best players in this class. In terms of undrafted prospects, keep an eye on Timmy Allen.

Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia didn't have a single draft pick in June, but landed three of the best undrafted free agents on the market. Between Terquavion Smith, Ricky Council IV and Azuolad Tubelis, the Sixers have a sneaky interesting rookie class this summer.

Utah Jazz

The host team of this event, Utah had one of the best drafts of the year. Boasting a first-round haul of Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks and Brice Sensabaugh, Utah is ready to take another step forward. Keep in mind, Hendricks and Sensabaugh may miss time as a precaution with minor injuries, but should still be exciting this week.

While this event takes place, the Sacramento Kings, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets will be competing in Sacramento in a six-team circuit. From there, all 30 teams will head to Las Vegas on July 7.
