WATCH: Scoot Henderson Offers Superstar Upside in 2023 NBA Draft

Long thought of as one of the better prospects in the NBA Draft hemisphere, the day is quickly approaching when G League Ignite guard Scoot Henderson will join his next team.

But what will the 6-foot-3 former five-star prospect really offer the team that snags him?

Draft Digest’s Derek Parker took a deep-dive into the point guard’s game to find the answer:

Firstly, Henderson is simply a nonsensical athlete. He’s been long compared to guys like Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, Ja Morant, and with his highlight reel, those aren’t unfair comparisons. He’s got all the buzzwords: burst, insane first step, verticality. And he uses each of those to his advantage in a variety of different ways: driving by defenders, getting out in transition and skying for lobs.

He’s an extremely polished scorer for his age, size and archetype. For long stretches throughout both his first and second seasons with the Ignite, he completely dominated a league filled with already drafted prospects and would-be NBA veterans.

He can hold his own defensively, and has shown enough upside as a passer and playmaker to make him a truly tantalizing pick at the No. 2 spot. His combination of athleticism, scoring prowess, passing chops and general competitive nature are going to carry whatever franchise drafts him a long, long ways.
