Ja Morant's Bold Statement on Memphis Grizzlies' Future

Morant believes the Grizzlies can win it all

The Memphis Grizzlies had an incredibly frustrating season, setting an NBA record for the most players used in a season. This was of course due to all the different injuries the Grizzlies dealt with throughout the year, including the season-ending shoulder injury that Ja Morant suffered just nine games after returning from his 25-game suspension.

While the Grizzlies finished this season well out of the playoff picture, there is optimism in Memphis that next season can be much different. Speaking with the media during his exit interview for this season, Morant made the bold claim that the Grizzlies can win it all next season.

Memphis had finished second in the Western Conference in consecutive seasons prior to this year, so their ability to compete in this tough conference has already been established. That said, there has been a lot of improvement in the West, so the Grizzlies will be competing in a conference that is even more talented than it was just two seasons ago.

With a core of Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, and others, the Grizzlies have some solid foundational pieces to build around. Getting a look at several different players this season, Memphis has an idea of who will fit best around their core pieces next season, which is one of the silver linings that came out of this tough year.
