NBA MVP Announces Decision on NBA Future

A fan favorite has made his decision.

Derrick Rose is one of the most beloved players in the NBA. After tearing his ACL in 2012, Rose has figured out a way to keep playing in the league 12 years later. Next year will be season 16 for Rose, and fortunately, it won't be the last.

In an interview with DaMichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal, Derrick Rose revealed his future NBA plans with the Memphis Grizzlies.

"Yes, I'm coming back," Rose said. "I talked to Zach (Kleiman), I talked to coach....This summer, it's all about attacking my rehabs, my workouts, and continuing to be disciplined."

This season, Derrick Rose only played in 24 games for the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged 8.0 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.9 assists on 46/37/89 shooting. It was on the lower end for both Rose's point averages and assist averages.

Rose's injury struggles on the Grizzlies weren't an isolated incident this season. The entire Grizzlies roster was injured throughout major portions of the season, and it wasn't just a Derrick Rose problem. The team was so injury-prone that they actually set an NBA record for most lineups used in a season.

Next season, the Memphis Grizzlies will have a plethora of options at the guard position - Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, and Desmond Bane will all be fantastic options moving forward.
