Ja Morant Shares Cryptic Message Amidst Grizzlies Offseason
As he promised following his Instagram live incident earlier this season, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been less active on social media. The star point guard does still Tweet on occasion, and his most recent message on Twitter has fans trying to figure out what he means:
It is likely nothing significant, but this time of the year often has fans dissecting everything they see from star players. Fans had a similar reaction to Jaren Jackson Jr.'s cryptic Tweet earlier this month, which resulted in the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year clarifying what he meant:
This is a crucial offseason for the Grizzlies, and one that will likely bring some significant changes. That said, one thing fans can almost guarantee, is that Morant and Jackson will be two pieces the team continues to build around. Morant is the face of the franchise, and Jackson is a 23-year-old Defensive Player of the Year on a declining contract. While the team will almost certainly make some changes to the roster, Morant and Jackson are the two pillars.
As for Morant's cryptic message on Twitter, there is likely no reason to read heavily into it. The star point guard and his teammates suffered a disappointing first round exit to the Los Angeles Lakers, but this core is still young, and has a lot of reason for optimism entering next season.
