Kevin Durant Reveals Honest Thoughts About Dillon Brooks

Kevin Durant gave a very thoughtful answer about Dillon Brooks

Dillon Brooks has a lot of enemies in the NBA. He talks a lot of trash, rubs people the wrong way, and it's very easy to hate him. One player who doesn't hate him though, is Kevin Durant.

Durant gave a very thought-out and honest opinion of Brooks on an episode of The ETCS. One thing Durant clearly sees with Brooks is that he's just doing his job.

"I've seen so many players like that, that play with that high energy, physical, talk a little trash here and there," Durant said. "But really just playing physical trying to prove theirselves on this stage, you know? There's a lot of players that come through the league and you want to stand out and become a name in our game and I think Dillon Brooks has really took advantage of the opportunities he has playing with a young team, having so much responsibility as a young player, being able to guard some of the best players. So you gotta have some type of, I don't want to call it crazy for lack of a better term but you gotta muster up something for you to do that every single night.

Durant knows that players like Dillon Brooks or Patrick Beverley have to be a certain type of crazy to guard a team's best player as a guard. Especially in the case of Brooks, when he's an integral part of the process. At the same time, Durant was willing to admit that Brooks can take it too far.

"To be asked to guard the best players every single night and also be an integral part of the offense so, yeah, sometimes he takes it too far," Durant said. "But it's just a part of the role he has to play for his team."

Dillon Brooks is a lot of things, but phony isn't one of them. Kevin Durant knows it's not a front, and knows the energy Dillon Brooks brings is authentic.

“We’ve seen so many players in the history of the game that we all love for doing the same stuff," Durant said. "I can respect that he’s bringing that energy to the game every time he plays. It’s not no front with him.”
