Warriors Star Shares Untold Story About Rising Grizzlies Rookie

Chris Paul told a great story about the NBA's youngest player.

One of the bright spots in a very dark season for the Memphis Grizzlies has been GG Jackson. From being an unknown that's the NBA's youngest player, to getting recognized by Shaq and NBA legends, Jackson has been a joy to watch. Most recently, Jackson was praised by 12x NBA All-Star Chris Paul.

Chris Paul revealed that GG Jackson was actually in his AAU program and that playing against him was a full-circle moment this week.

"Honestly, the most fulfilling thing about tonight was GG Jackson," Paul said after facing the Grizzlies. "GG is an unbelievable kid. It's crazy. Sometimes he still calls me Coach. He hit a 3 in my face, and I was pissed. Our AAU program is really like a family. To see him, to be out there on the court playing against him, it's kind of a surreal moment."

From coaching Jackson to playing against him, it was a moment that Chris Paul will never forget. This season, GG Jackson is averaging 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assists on 44/37/74 shooting. It remains to be seen whether Jackson will play 23 minutes a game next season when Ja Morant and company all return, but he's certainly earned some playing time next season. For now, GG Jackson should enjoy the ride and improve every single day that he can.
