In the Miami Heat’s preseason loss to the Brooklyn Nets, fans got a good glimpse of the chemistry between Bam Adebayo and Duncan Robinson.

After the defeat, coach Erik Spoelstra commented on the collaboration.

“They both embrace that collaboration," Spoelstra said. "I would say they've had the Duncan to Bam pass actually for a couple years now. That's usually an overreaction. Duncan has really worked on that pass with 10,000 reps."

After going undrafted in 2018, Robinson continues to put in high amounts of effort to find himself in the Heat’s rotation. Last season, he averaged only 1.7 assists but found a connection with Adebayo in the post.

"We've seen the Bam triple handoffs to Duncan, the pick and rolls," Spoelstra said. "But now, the way teams are scheming against Duncan, they're forcing him to go to the basket more. So we're getting a lot more of those kind of passes, Bam assists to Duncan. We'll see how the league continues to adjust. That's the ultimate compliment."

A bright spot for Miami’s offense in Wednesday’s loss was Adebayo’s ability to seek out Robinson in the pick-and-roll. Although Robinson shot 1-of-6 from three-point range, the connection showed promise heading into the regular season.
