In this story:

You just kind of knew it would be one of those showcase nights for Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo.

He only needed one half to show how he has improved. Adebayo's full game was on the display Wednesday against the Brooklyn. The Heat were playing without Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro and Caleb Martin, so it was Adebayo's chance to take center stage.

Here's a look at three of his early highlights.

When the Heat get this type of versatility from Adebayo, it takes the pressure off Butler. Adebayo began by driving the court and hitting Duncan Robinson with an impressive assist.

In the second quarter, he displayed his solid shooting with a jumpshot off the pick-and-roll with Duncan Robinson. Shooting is an area of concern for him but it appears he may have improved in the offseason.

Later, Adebayo and Robinson hooked up again. This time, Robinson hit Adebayo for an alley-oop. This shouldn't come as a surprise because they have been teammates for so long.

Of course, this is all just the preseason. It may change when Butler and Herro return for the regular season. Still, it was exciting to see how well Adebayo plays when he's alone on the court. It just means we don't see all the skills Adebayo possesses when the Heat are at full strength

Bam Adebayo Should Take A Page From Joel Embiid's Playbook
