The popular G.O.A.T. debate gets multiple opinions from different sport pundits. But LeBron James’ longtime agent and close friend, Rich Paul, finally gives his take.

In a recent episode of Gilbert Arenas’ podcast Gil’s Arena, he said James has the upperhand due to the argument alone.

“I just think LeBron’s antlers is in platinum and Michael’s may be in gold,” Paul said. “Why? Because when you think about it, he had to be compared to Mike. Who did Mike have to be compared to? Right?”

Unlike most, his take offers a sense of knowledge and deep background. When Jordan played, he dominated the NBA and won tons of personal awards. Even though Larry Bird and Magic Johnson had great runs in the 1980s, many believe Jordan was the first great player.

While everyone thought Jordan would remain the best basketball player, James came along. When he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the first overall pick in 2003, expectations were extremely high.

Obviously, he lived up to them.

However, it wasn’t easy. During his first seven years with the Cavaliers, he won two MVPs in 2009 and 2010 and the scoring title in 2008. But he lacked a championship. When he joined the Miami Heat in 2010, his name started being cemented into the G.O.A.T. debate. He led the Heat to four straight playoff appearances from 2010-2014 and back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013. He also collected two more MVPs in 2012 and 2013.

This debate might last forever but the comparison by itself proves how great James is.
