Portland Trailblazers Met with Laughter as Miami Heat Brush Off Offer for Bam Adebayo

ESPN’s Zach Lowe says Portland Trailblazers were met with laughter in regards to trade for Bam Adebayo

It was reported on Tuesday the Portland Trailblazers were preparing to make a substantial offer for Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe reported on his podcast Wednesday that "They would like to take a run at Bam Adebayo," he said. "That was met with laughter from the front offices of the Miami Heat."

Adebayo has proven himself as a player in the regular season and playoffs, being a pivotal part of the Heat’s two Finals appearances in the past four years. His resume includes two All-Star selections and being selected to four consecutive All-Defensive second-teams.

As Lowe said, the Heat "consider a franchise pillar who has proven himself a playoff winner."

The Heat’s front office has made it clear they are not interested in parting ways with Adebayo.

With the Heat being heavily involved in trade rumors this offseason with the Trailblazers for Damian Lillard, it is clear they are not willing to include Adebayo in this trade. After the Finals loss to the Denver Nuggets last season, team president Pat Riley told reporters that "Subtle moves will be enough" if Miami fails to land Lillard.
