Hornets' Rough Night Shooting Leads to 107-96 Loss to Phoenix

The Hornets fall to 17-50 on the season.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - 'Twas a milestone night in Charlotte, well, maybe not of the good kind. The Charlotte Hornets lost their 50th game of the season Friday night at the hand of the Phoenix Suns, 107-96.

The Hornets actually took care of the basketball tonight, only turning it over five times but the shooting was far from efficient. They shot a measly 16.7% from three-point range but fortunately Phoenix didn't shoot it much better (28.9).

Jusuf Nurkic had his way underneath, picking up 21 rebounds (five offensive) to go along with 13 points. He held Nick Richards to just two points on the night on 1/5 shooting.

Best of the Night: Grant Williams

Williams finished the night with 20 points on 8/17 FG (3/8 3 FG) and six rebounds. If you take away Williams' three-point shooting, the Hornets go 3/29 (10%) from beyond the arc.

Worst of the Night: Nick Richards

Don't be fooled by the 15 boards. When the team shoots 37% from the floor, there's going to be a lot of loose basketballs for grabs. He was a non-factor offensively and got pushed around by Nurkic. He's been up and down this season as a starter and this one is certainly not one that's going in the highlight reel.
