The Sacramento Kings suffered their fifth loss of the 2023-24 season on Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans with a brutal 39-point difference. Despite the blowout, the Kings losing the game was not the worst thing to happen. Kings F Keegan Murray was sidelined for the second half after exiting the game with lower back soreness.

After leaving Monday's loss prematurely, Murray is set to miss his first game of the season in Wednesday's Kings vs. Pelicans rematch, per Sean Cunningham of FOX40.

With Murray officially out for Wednesday's Thanksgiving Eve matchup, the 23-year-old forward is missing just his third career game. Through 13 games this season, Murray averages 13.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, all increased from last season.

Murray has started the season in a slump, shooting just 28.7% from deep despite shooting 41% from long range in his rookie season. Even though the sharpshooter has not been as sharp as expected, Murray has found other ways to contribute, most notably on the defensive end.

The Kings will miss Murray's presence as they look to bounce back from Monday's 39-point loss, but F Trey Lyles making his season debut will increase their chances at revenge.

Kings G Chris Duarte also left Monday's loss early due to injury but is available for Wednesday's matchup and will likely start in place of Murray.
