Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis enjoyed a solid-if-underwhelming game last night in an LA loss to their Crypto.com Arena neighbors, the Los Angeles Clippers.

That was due in part to the fact that Davis was double-teamed early and often, a fact his All-Star teammate LeBron James acknowledged postgame was just par for the course for a club housing such a low post behemoth.

Davis still finished with 17 points on 7-of-14 field goal shooting and 3-of-4 foul shooting, 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal.

Surprisingly, yesterday marked Davis' first time playing in both games of a back-to-back set since he returned from his right foot stress injury way back in January. He spoke about his comeback with reporters after the game.

"[I was] just trying to see how I [felt] before the game," Davis said. "Basically I hadn't played a back-to-back game in a long time, so just mentally getting prepared how to play, not sure how [my] foot [was] going to react."

"I've been better, but I'll be fine," Davis acknowledged of how he felt following the bout.

Davis can breathe easy now, as that was LA's final back-to-back set of the 2022-23 NBA season. He looked somewhat fatigued, and the aggressive Clippers double teams didn't help, but all told he performed capably.
