On Wednesday, Los Angeles Lakers star center Anthony Davis was sorely missed during the Houston Rockets' surprise defeat of an LA team that stumbled scoring in or protecting the painted area, due in large part to the absences of Davis and All-Star small forward LeBron James.

Houston beat LA 114-110, a final margin that belies the Rockets' more insurmountable advantage until the game's waning seconds.

Now, it appears that Davis could potentially miss Los Angeles' next game, too, against another Lone Star State non-contender. The Dallas Mavericks are coming to town, and though they will be without All-Star guard Luka Doncic and may also be down All-Star guard Kyrie Irving (his status is merely questionable so far), the 35-35 club could still have enough offensive firepower to overwhelm a Lakers club without its two best players.

Per a recent team injury report, Davis is considered merely "probable" to suit up for the 34-36 Lakers, as he continues to manage his recovering right foot stress reaction.

The ailment kept him shelved for Los Angeles over the course of five-and-a-half weeks earlier this season. He's been listed as "probable" ever since, even in the games he does play, hours before he joins his team.
