Lakers News: LeBron James Gets Honest About Losing Anthony Davis Against Warriors

LeBron got honest about what losing Anthony Davis did to the Lakers' game plan against the Warriors.

The Los Angeles Lakers dropped another disappointing game to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, and are now in danger of having to claw their way out of the play-in tournament

Part of the reason that the team fell to the Warriors, is that Anthony Davis exited the game in the first period after being accidentally hit in the face by Trayce Jackson-Davis. What is now being called a cornea abrasion resulted in Davis leaving and not coming back.

Davis is hugely important to the Lakers, and his exit completely derailed the plans the team had. LeBron James knows this and got candid about what it was like to lose Davis.

"When you've been preparing for a couple of days with our prep and you lose a key component to your team in one quarter, we tried to pick it up, but, obviously, there's some things we can't do without AD."

Whatever the team had cooked up for the Warriors went away the moment that Davis exited the game. The combination of James and Davis is definitely needed, and losing either would cause a significant blow to the offensive power of the Lakers.

Davis has been trending towards recovering enough for tonight's game against Atlanta, but should he sit out—James will need to find a way to rally his team to a win.
