Lakers News: Multiple Top Schools Join Kobe Bryant’s Exclusive ‘Mamba Program’

Love to see it!

Just a couple of weeks ago, news broke that the University of Kentucky Men's Basketball program landed an exclusive partnership deal with Nike and Vanessa Bryant to become the first school to join the 'Mamba Program.'

This meant that on top of rocking their signature blue and white uniforms this coming 2023-2024 season, they will also be able to gain access to a number of exclusive Kobe Bryant signature shoes along with merchandise.

This year has a been a great one for fans of the late, great Lakers legend as Nike and Vanessa have been able to successfully release multiple new models of the Black Mamba's sneaker line and plan for even more in the coming months.

The Kobe 8 Protro 'Halo' is already among the most popular basketball shoes that dropped this year and it's amazing to know that more are on the way. Bryant had a special relationship with Kentucky's head coach John Calipari and seeing how much talent he has on his roster heading into the new season, this was the perfect squad to add to the 'Mamba Program.'

However, it looks like Kentucky will not be the only school next season a part of the program as Vanessa recently announced that the University of Connecticut, University of Southern California, University of Oregon, Louisiana State University and Duke University will all be joining as well.

The collegiate level of athletics is only growing and evolving with players being able to grow their brands through NIL deals and get more exposure.

These are some of the best and most competitive basketball programs in the nation and it is only right that they hit the ground running this year with some Kobe's on their feet.
