Los Angeles Lakers point guard Dennis Schröder enters this week's free agency period in a spot that he should be used to 10 years into his NBA career.

As an unrestricted free agent, Schröder will have the option to switch teams for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.

In a YouTube video posted by Schröder, he notes that he plans to sign a contract with a team by the 4th of July.

Schröder is coming off a season where he averaged 12.6 points, 4.5 assists and 0.8 steals a game.

The Lakers are the favorites to resign the point guard. Schröder was moved into a starting role in the playoffs after D'Angelo Russel struggled mightily.

The 6'3" vet expressed a desire to stay in Los Angeles in his video showing off his house in the city.

"If we stay here, the transition will be easier," said Schröder in German.

Schröder's deadline of the 4th of July is a popular day for many basketball players to choose where they will play in the following season.

The most notable 4th of July decision transpired in 2016, when Kevin Durant announced that he will be leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the 73-9 Golden State Warriors, who had just defeated Durant and co. in the Western Conference Finals en route to their second straight NBA Finals appearance.

Whichever team adds Schröder will get a dependable guard coming off the bench that can score just as well as he can facilitate.
