Magic Star Franz Wagner Used All-Star Break to Prepare for Second-Half Push

The NBA season can be absolutely draining, and Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner used the All-Star Break to take a much needed break.

Teams will start playing regular season games again in just a few days, and most players are thankful for the time off that they for over the All-Star Break.

For a lot of teams, including the Orlando Magic, that time off serves as fuel to make a push for a higher seed in the playoffs. Forward Franz Wagner talked about what he did over the All-Star Break and how it could have an impact on the rest of his season.

"I took the time off to get my mind right and get my body right for this push towards the end of the season," Wagner said. "I was able to get away and turn my phone off for a little bit and live a little."

Wagner is averaging 21 points on solid shooting percentages, as well as 5.6 rebounds per game. If he can continue to improve like he has from his rookie year to now, then Wagner might not have as much time off next year as he did this season.

He was not involved in any of the festivities this past weekend, which means he got true time off instead of having to participate in one of the many competitions.  But hopefully in the near future, the young forward will get a chance to join Paolo Banchero in the All-Star Game.

Wagner, Banchero, and the rest of the Magic will be back in action on Thursday against Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
