Nikola Jokic's Surprising Statement on Nuggets vs Timberwolves

Nikola Jokic always continues to surprise.

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves face off in a massive game tonight that will likely determine the first seed in the Western Conferece. However, Nikola Jokic thinks otherwise.

When asked about the important matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves, Jokic gave the surprising, yet most Nikola Jokic answer possible.

“I don’t think it’s a really big game," Jokic said. "Yes, we’re going to go out there and play to win the game, of course, but I think people are just making their stories that it’s a big game. Hopefully it’s going to be interesting.”

Getting the first or second seed isn't quite as important to the Denver Nuggets as it is for the Minnesota Timberwolves. For Denver, the most important thing is to enter the playoffs healthy. They're the team that everyone in the Western Conference is trying to avoid, and they aren't trying to avoid anybody. However, there's still a slim chance that the Nuggets could fall to the third seed if they lose against the Timberwolves tonight.

Currently, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a 2-1 regular season series lead over the Denver Nuggets for control of the tiebreaker. Minnesota winning tonight would seal that tiebreaker and make Denver's quest for the first seed all but impossible. If Denver wins, the only two games left are against a very beatable San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies teams.
