Indiana Pacers to have third pre-draft workout of 2023 on May 31

The Pacers are hosting prospects on consecutive days

The Indiana Pacers announced their third workout of the 2023 pre-draft cycle. It will take place on Wednesday, May 31.

It will be the second day in a row that the blue and gold will bring in a group of prospects for closer observation. With the draft just over three weeks away, things are heating up for the blue and gold.

Indiana has five picks in the 2023 draft, with three in the first round. They could execute several different draft-night strategies, so they will be doing their homework on as many prospects as possible prior to the June 22 draft.

The six prospects working out for the Pacers on Wednesday are:

  • Johnell Davis, Florida Atlantic
  • Adam Flagler, Baylor
  • Armaan Franklin, Virginia
  • Nate Laszewski, Notre Dame
  • Leonard Miller, G League Ignite
  • Isaiah Wong, Miami

Miller is the highlight of the group. The Ignite forward is young and talented, and ESPN has him being selected 21st overall in their latest mock draft. He is a promising young wing.

None of the other players are currently projected to be selected in ESPN's mock. Laszewski has some Indiana ties as he spent all five years of his college career playing for Notre Dame in South Bend. He averaged 13.7 points per game in his final season with the Fighting Irish.

Miller revealed at the NBA Draft Combine that he had a meeting scheduled with the Pacers. "I feel like what I've done with Ignite fits modern basketball. On the court, I can pass, dribble, and shoot. I feel like that's what you need to do," he said of his skills.

The Pacers have now brought in 18 players for a workout and will have plenty more in the coming weeks.
