Indiana Pacers game preview: Pacers host old friend Domantas Sabonis and Sacramento Kings

Sabonis returns to Indianapolis for the first time since the Pacers traded him to the Kings

The Indiana Pacers host the Sacramento Kings just one day after suffering a tough loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pacers, who have now lost 11 out of their last 12 games, will look to recover quickly.

The Kings come to Indianapolis playing some pretty good basketball. They have won seven of their last 10 games and sit third in the Western Conference. They beat the Pacers earlier this season in a strange game and have one of the best offenses in the league.

Pacers vs Kings Injury Report

The Pacers played last night, so they have not yet submitted an injury report. Guard Tyrese Haliburton (left knee and left elbow) and center Daniel Theis (right knee) were questionable last night but both played. Wing Kendall Brown (G League) and guard Trevelin Queen are often listed as questionable as a part of their two-way contracts.

For the Kings, De'Aaron Fox is out.

Key Matchups

Myles Turner vs Domantas Sabonis: Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis shared the frontcourt in Indiana for years. Tonight, they will share the court in Indianapolis again, but this time as opponents.

Sabonis nearly had a triple double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists when the two teams battled in November. Turner, meanwhile, finished with just four points and six rebounds that night. The Pacers will need him to be better in that battle if they want to win.

Aaron Nesmith vs Harrison Barnes: Aaron Nesmith had a career night last night, scoring 24 points against the Lakers. He has been a key piece for the Pacers this season on both ends of the floor.

The blue and gold will need him to be great again tonight against the Kings and Harrison Barnes. Barnes fits the mold of players who have thrived against Indiana in recent seasons, so Nesmith's defense will be important. Barnes had 22 points against the Pacers in November.
