Detroit Pistons Could Miss Veteran vs. Dallas Mavericks on Saturday

Quentin Grimes is on pace to miss another game for the Detroit Pistons.

Saturday’s game between the Detroit Pistons and the Dallas Mavericks could miss a couple of players coming from both sides.

On Detroit’s side, they are likely going to face the Mavs without their veteran trade acquisition, Quentin Grimes. Lately, Grimes has been managing a lingering knee injury, which has sidelined him more often than not over the last couple of months.

Currently, Grimes is listed as doubtful for the Pistons. While they aren’t willing to rule him out just yet, his absence seems inevitable once again on Saturday night.

Since joining the Pistons’ organization last month, Grimes has been more absent than available due to a knee injury.

When the Pistons initially traded for the veteran from the New York Knicks, he was already in the midst of a three-game absence. As expected, Grimes didn’t debut right away for Detroit, as he continued to recover from his setback.

After missing five games, Grimes finally suited up for the Pistons on February 24. He checked in for 26 minutes against the Orlando Magic. In the following game, the Pistons paid a visit to New York to face Grimes’ former squad. He collected a 23-minute shift and had his best outing in a Pistons uniform yet.

Over the next two games, Grimes failed to see the court for more than 15 minutes. He struggled from the field, making just one shot between those two games. When the Pistons faced the Orlando Magic last Sunday, Grimes was ruled out for the first time since February 22.

The veteran would go on to miss three games in a row for the Pistons. Saturday is shaping up to be his fourth straight.
