Tankathon Reverse Standings: Pistons, Wizards Battling for No. 1

With just 20-something games remaining in the NBA regular season, there’s a tight race for the best 2024 draft odds.

With just around 20 games remaining in the 2023-24 NBA regular season, a good chunk of teams are looking to finish strong and make one final push to bolster their record.

Other near the bottom, some of which are soon to be eliminated from playoff contention, might look to reposition themselves to land better talent in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Here is the official Tankathon reverse standings as of Sunday, March 10:

T1. Detroit Pistons, 10-53

Detroit has officially graduated from historically bad to just plain. They’ve beaten the Bulls and Nets in their last 10 contests, boasting strong performances from star Cade Cunningham throughout.

They’re undoubtedly still going to be in contention for a top three pick come June, but they can rest slightly easier knowing there’s at least a little progress this season.

At this point, landing the top odds would probably still be the silver lining on the season.

T1. Washington Wizards, 10-53

In the last week, Washington finally passed Detroit for the best odds, but now remains tied following its win over Charlotte on Friday, effectively snapping a 16-game losing-streak.

The Wizards have a so-so schedule remaining — featuring matchups against the leagues worst and best — but they're still likely to be projected losers in every contest, even against Detroit.

For my money, Washington will hold the best odds at No. 1 at the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery.

3. San Antonio Spurs, 14-50

4. Charlotte Hornets, 16-48

5. Portland Trail Blazers, 18-45

6. Memphis Grizzlies, 22-42

7. Toronto Raptors, 23-41

8. Brooklyn Nets, 25-39

9. Utah Jazz, 28-36

10. Houston Rockets, 28-38

11. Atlanta Hawks, 29-34

12. Chicago Bulls, 31-33

13. Golden State Warriors, 33-30

14. Los Angeles Lakers, 35-30
