Suns Center Deandre Ayton Exits vs. Pelicans With Ankle Injury

Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton left in the first half against New Orleans with an ankle injury.

Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton has played incredibly well to begin the 2022-23 regular season, yet he was forced to exit Friday night's contest against the New Orleans Pelicans with an ankle injury.

He was officially ruled out by the team at halftime with a sprained left ankle, playing only eight minutes while gathering four points and three rebounds.

Jock Landale initially replaced him but would eventually be subbed by Bismack Biyombo prior to halftime. Biyombo played just seven total minutes in the first four games before totaling seven rebounds, two points and one assist in seven minutes played.

The Suns lead the Pelicans 57-52 at the half.
